Strawberry Fields Forever

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was relatively uneventful and I spent a ridiculous amount of time in the library and drank unhealthy amounts of coffee. I have a lot of assignments and a test this week so I'm not looking forward to it. After this I'm basically done with most of my major school work so things should settle down quite a bit until exams :)

I went for something a bit different for these nails, opting for a more realistic style with these strawberry vines. I usually do a lot of flat 2D patterns so this was quite the change. I experimented with shading and highlights here and I'm pretty satisfied with how they turned out. I definitely need more practice though!

I started with American Apparel T-Shirt. I used a striping brush and American Apparel Poppy to paint on the strawberries. I used a small dotting tool to shade with American Apparel Downtown LA and to highlight with American Apparel Pink Ladies, American Apparel Sunshine State and American Apparel T-Shirt. For the leaves and vines I used American Apparel Zuma Beach, American Apparel Army Jacket and American Apparel Crescent Heights.

What do you think of this fruity manicure? It makes you a bit hungry, no? :P
