Hello! The weather is so beautiful right now but unfortunately I've come down with quite the cold. It started as a cough but now it's reached my nose, so basically all I want to do is sleep. Still, nail art is always an appropriate way to welcome a new season, so here I have some simple bright florals and plaid.
I employed the watercolour technique to achieve this style, thinning out my polishes with acetone to create sheer layers of colour. While I do love crisp, opaque colour, I'm finding myself growing quite fond of the look of varying opacity :)
I started with American Apparel T-Shirt. I applied drop of American Apparel Sunshine Beach, American Apparel Dynasty and American Apparel Coney Island for the flowers and used the watercolour technique to thin out the colour. Then I did the same in the center of the flowers with American Apparel Zuma Beach, American Apparel African Violet and American Apparel Angeline. I then used a striping brush and American Apparel Zuma Beach to paint the petals, and added some dots to the flower centers with American Apparel Hunter. For the lines I used a striping brush and American Apparel Zuma Beach and American Apparel Angeline that I first thinned with acetone on foil. Finally I added a magenta rhinestone to each accent nail.
Hopefully the weather is nice where you are too, so go out and enjoy it! See you soon!
