Bronze Brocade

Happy Friday! We've finally reached the end of a very busy week. I'm super exhausted but there's no time for sleep! Tonight is my college's formal dinner and dance. It'll be nice to see everyone all dressed up so I'm looking forward to it. What are your weekend plans?

There's a bit of a story to how these nails came to be. My previous glittery birthday manicure was on the verge of becoming a chipped nightmare so I needed something quick and easy to replace it with. I grabbed a go-to mint and paired it with a bronze metallic. I thought, 'this interesting colour combo as a halfmoon manicure will be enough to satiate my manic nail art addiction!' Wrong.

I did the halfmoons in a few minutes and then decided to add a swirly brocade print to just one nail. Bad idea! After that I was doomed. I liked the design so much that I had to replicate it on all of my nails. I had to work quickly and got a bit impatient, so some parts of the design aren't perfectly matched. Still, I really like how these turned out! They were worth the extra trouble :)

I started with American Apparel Office. I used a striping brush to paint on the halfmoon and filled it in with American Apparel Bronze Dash. Then I painted on the print in the same way.

As always, thanks for stopping by! Take it easy and have a wonderful weekend!
