Mixed Metals

Hi all, quick post for tonight. I'm still in a bit of a rut so I did another gradient. I decided to go with a 'mixed metals' look using gold, silver and copper glitter fading into a clear base. This look is very versatile since it's simple, edgy and pretty all in one. As an added bonus for the lazy like myself, a clear base calls for minimal cuticle clean up! ;)

I started off with a clear base coat. Then I used a makeup sponge to sponge on Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure on half of the nail and Jessica Smoky Feather on the bottom third. Then I layered Sephora by OPI Don't Be Eggnog-ious, a silver glitter by Love & Beauty and Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me.

So what do you think of the mixed metals look? Is it just for nails or do you like to mix your jewellery too? (:

  7. Whenever I'm in a nail polish rut I do little picture-designs. Like for example I have little penguins on my nails :)

  12. Thanks, Miss J! I don't have a hard time getting it to stick but I do find that the glitter is a little sparse, especially compared to the other metallic glitters ): It might work better if you use a small glitter polish first and then layer this one on top!

  14. Beauty! Mixed metals, glitter, and glitter gradients that fade onto nude nails are three of my favourites... so combining all three? Genius!
