I was casually perusing YouTube the other day when I saw this tutorial by Tartofraises. Her channel is one of my favourites on YouTube because of her innovative, sophisticated designs. I've been drawn to organic designs lately so when I saw hers I was instantly inspired. My manicure is quite different but I think the idea is there.
Also, this manicure features a new colour I picked up recently, Essie Play Date. I saw a lovely look by Traci of drinkcitra with this shade and instantly fell in love. And so, upon my next Walmart adventure, this baby became mine :) It applied flawlessly in two coats. It was such a pleasure to polish with and I can't wait to use it again.
I first used Essie Play Date. I freehanded the dark shapes with Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl using the brush that came with the polish. Then I added a thin layer of Essie Shine of the Times on top of the dark parts only. Finally I used a white striping polish and a dotting tool for the outlines and details, finishing off with topaz-coloured gems for an accent.
I really love this manicure- very prom-appropriate! Hope you like it too and have a fantastic rest of the week! (And start of March Break for my fellow Canadian high schoolers! Woo!)
