TUTORIAL: Christmas French Manicure

I've been really MIA but here's another holiday tutorial to make up for it!
This past week at school was killer. I had three tests (functions, biology & chemistry) plus a Christmas concert to perform in. I'm pretty sure that I bombed all three tests but at least they're over now.
On the bright side, the Christmas spirit is really kicking in! My close friends and I did Secret Santa/Kris Kringle (which they all totally ruined by guessing who had who) and I watched two holiday movies recently: Happy Feet Two and New Year's Eve. Both were pretty enjoyable but super great :P

French manicure was made using Seche Chemise and Essence Tip Painter. Design used OPI Don't Mess With OPI, China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Also, thank you all for viewing my posts and videos and commenting on them. I only have just enough time to paint nails, make videos and post now so I have trouble being prompt with my replies. I really do read every single comment though and I appreciate them dearly! Thank you for bearing with me <3

Have a lovely holiday and please share any holiday plans/traditions you have (:

TUTORIAL: Candy Cane Hearts

I'm a bit late getting into the Christmas festivities but better late than never, right? This is my first holiday manicure- pretty simple. I did this design last Christmas, before I started seriously blogging so a low-quality photo might be floating around somewhere on the internet...
This look features a simple peppermint french tip with two candy canes forming a heart on the thumb as an accent. It's definitely on the sweeter side of Christmas and the colours aren't as in-your-face as the typical verdant greens and primary reds (which I'll be getting to, I assure you :P)

To start I used American Apparel Office. I painted the white tips with a white striping polish and used OPI You're Such a Kabuki Queen for the pink.

And here's the matching video tutorial:

Hope you liked! Joy and candy canes to you all <3

Seeing Snakes

Here's my second attempt at the paper towel + permanent marker technique I showed you last time. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can check out my video in the post "TUTORIAL: Snakeskin". This time around I strayed away from the neons and went for something more subdued. There's a mix of blues, a deep purple and some faint grey in here. I like this one because the colours seem to blend better but I'm still somewhat partial to the brighter version :P

I used American Apparel Factory Grey as my base colour.

That's all! Thanks for looking and see you next time (:
