I See London

I'll soon be off on a trip with my best friend to the wonderful London & Paris. To get in the spirit of things, I painted my nails with the Union Jack!

I used OPI No Room for the Blues as a base and used striping brushes for the flag.

Weekend Haul

I was at an Asian mall recently and spotted these treasures for cheap.

I picked up three of the new Crackle Glaze polishes from China Glaze: Cracked Concrete, Lightning Bolt and Crushed Candy. I also got White Cap from the recent Anchors Away collection. Saving the best for last, I finally got my hands on a bottle of For Audrey! I saw the famous colour sitting on the shelf and I recognized it immediately. Needless to say, I was a happy camper that day.

Alternating Crackle

We're finally at my most recent manicure. These China Glazes polishes are all from a recent haul, which I'll post about next. My finds happened to have some nicely alternating colours and I really wanted to try out a lot of the new polishes. This is what resulted:

The thumb and ring finger have China Glaze For Audrey as a base with China Glaze Crackle Glaze Cracked Concrete on top. The other fingers have American Apparel Factory Grey as a base with China Glaze Crackle Glaze Crushed Candy.

Tribal Trials

I did a tribal manicure last year but it wasn't very good. Seeing all the hype about them on Tumblr recently, I decided to try again. The colours remind me of Perry the Platypus!

The teal colour is American Apparel Malibu Green and the yellow is American Apparel Manila. The white and black details were done with striping brushes.

XOXO

Here are my nails from Valentines Day. My red striping polish never fails to smudge! Ugh.

I used American Apparel Coney Island as a base on the index, middle, and little fingers. For the thumb and ring finger, I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White. The red details were drawn with the offending striping brush and the mauve lips are American Apparel Dynasty.

Matte Shatter

I shelled out twenty dollars for this trend... I should have waited for Crackle Glaze! I don't know if I really like the look but it's interesting nonetheless. Here I did a matte manicure:

I used Color Club Pretty in Platinum for a base with OPI Black Shatter. Topped it off with Essie Matte About You.

Girly Zebra

I liked the previous manicure so much that I did a purple-pink version:

This time I used American Apparel L'Esprit at the cuticle and American Apparel Coney Island at the tips. The duochrome is Sally Hansen Hi-Definition Byte. I used two coats of Seche Vite- big mistake! Look at the shrinkage!

Duochrome Safari

Here's my last post for tonight! This is one of my favourites. I created a regular periwinkle to grey gradient and topped that with a shimmery duochrome blue-purple gradient. Blended everything with some easy zebra stripes.

The first gradient was created by applying American Apparel L'Esprit on the entire nail and sponging American Apparel Factory Grey near the tips. The duochrome gradient was layers of Sally Hansen Hi-Definition DVD. The stripes were drawn with a black striping brush.

Burberry Plaid

I've been seeing everyone donning scarves with some variation of the iconic Burberry plaid lately. Instead of directly following the trend, I displayed the pattern on my nails:

The base is American Apparel California Trooper with black, red and white striping polishes.

Feeling Floral

A floral take on a halfmoon manicure:

The base colour is American Apparel Dynasty and the pinstripes were done with an Asian brand striping polish. The flowers are American Apparel Coney Island, mixed with Dynasty for the detail. The leaves are American Apparel Office, mixed with a bit of black for the veins.

Into the Wild

I'll be posting some older manicures to get things rolling! Here's a classy leopard print:

I used American Apparel California Trooper for the base colour and American Apparel Passport Blue for the leopard spots. The gold glitter is an unnamed Forever 21 polish.
