Nails "Tie-Dye" For!

Haha, get it? Nails to die for? No? Okay, moving on! I've had this idea in my head for awhile and I finally did it last night. Navy blue tie-dye is one of my favourite trends right now. I think I got the effect down but the pattern/placement could be better for more of a random tie-dye look. It reminds me a bit of those white china plates with the blue detailing.

I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Lavender Cloud as a base with American Apparel L'Esprit and American Apparel Mount Royal for the pattern. The accent nail is Barry M Silver layered over Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Lavender Cloud.

A Rose on Monday

Happy Monday! Or Easter Monday for those who celebrate. Hope your weekend was enjoyable. I did a lot of retail therapy today, decorated some cupcakes for a school project and now I'm finally posting these nails. I've always drawn these kinds of roses on birthday cards and invitations but it never struck me to paint them on my nails until recently:

I used American Apparel Hassid as a base colour with Essie Mod Squad for the flowers and Essie Mint Candy Apple for the leaves.

Happy Easter!

The Easter long weekend is coming up soon so I got a bit festive. On the thumbs I painted some hiding Easter bunnies and the rest of the fingers have Easter eggs. Hope your weekend is great, whether or not you celebrate Easter! xo

On the thumbs I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Lavender Cloud as a base and American Apparel Coney Island on the other fingers and for the bunny. The easter eggs have more Lavender Cloud, Essie Lilacism and American Apparel Office sponged on top. Finished them off with a striping brush for the designs.

Pretty Petals

I really liked last week's floral manicure so I decided to take another go at it. This time I did a gold slanted tip with a single flower.

I used China Glaze White Cap layered over a base of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Lavender Cloud. China Glaze 5 Golden Rings was used for the tips and the flowers were made with Essie Lilacism, American Apparel Manila and more Lavender Cloud.

April Showers, Early Flowers

Despite this morning's thunderstorm, the weather was beautiful this weekend! It's finally starting to feel like spring around here so I present a celebratory floral manicure. It reminds me of those 3D Asian acrylics!

I laid down several coats of Revlon Powder Puff with a coat of Nicole by OPI On Nicole's Wish List. The flowers were made using a white striping polish, Essie Mint Candy AppleAmerican Apparel Coney Island, and Essie Lilacism.

Happy spring!

Hot Off the Press

The newspaper trend has been on my to-do list for the longest time so I figured that it was about time that I finally did it. I spruced it up with a French tip thanks to the tutorial via Orly. I took a bit of an old-fashioned sepia look and did a biege base colour instead of the usual white.

I used American Apparel California Trooper as a base with bits of the local paper on top. I used striping polishes and a dotting tool for the French tip.
